The heart chakra, Anahata, is the wellspring of love, warmth, compassion, and joy. It is responsible for moving love throughout your life.
Chakras are energy centers within the body. The word chakra means “wheel” or “disk.” Think of the chakras as spinning vortices of energy that correspond to bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of your energetic body that affect your emotional and physical well-being.
Opening your chakras and allowing cosmic energies to flow through your body will ultimately refresh your spirit and empower your life.
There are seven main chakras that align along the spine; starting at the base of the spine and moving up to the crown of the head. When adequate energy flows to these chakras, that energy fills the area with the vital life force each chakra needs to perform its unique specialty.
Each of the seven chakras is governed by spiritual laws, principles of consciousness that we can use to cultivate greater harmony, happiness, and wellbeing in our lives and in the world.
You are constantly changing, growing, evolving and adapting to outside influences; as such, lifestyle choices, life experiences, circumstances and outside influences may hinder the flow of energy to these energy centers. When chakras become blocked, it destructs the flow of energy in our bodies and causes emotional and physical distress.
Disease is often an accumulation of dammed-up energy. When we learn how energy moves through the chakras, we can begin to allow it to flow freely through our bodies, creating greater health.

Fortunately, there are a variety of practices, including affirmations, that can help keep these channels open and allow energy to flow freely.
Affirmations are powerful statements used to balance and harmonize these energy centers. Through consistency and repetition, affirmations direct healing energy to restore balance to specific areas of your body and life.

The heart chakra, located at the center of the chest, is at the center of the seven chakras with three below and three above. This is the area where physical and spiritual meet.
The Sanskrit word for the heart chakra is Anahata which translates to “unstruck” or “unhurt.” The name implies that beneath the hurts and grievances of past experiences lies a pure and spiritual place where no hurt exists.
Air is the element of the this chakra, which symbolizes freedom of expansion and breadth. A heart that is willing to give without restriction.
When your heart chakra is open, you are flowing with love and compassion, you are quick to forgive, and you accept others and yourself. A closed heart chakra can give way to grief, anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal, and hatred toward yourself and others.
True love stems only from an unbroken wholeness, never from neediness, and is fulfilled not through what we receive but rather through what we give.
Imbalances in the Heart Chakra can manifest as; fear of getting hurt, shy, clingy, possessive, feelings of loneliness and being unloved, jealousy, grief, anger, codependency, fear of betrayal, upper back pain, immune deficiency, premature aging, tendency to stay in unhealthy or abusive relationships.
A blocked Heart Chakra blocks out the opportunity for healthy intimacy and love to enter.
