Meet the Creator of Theta Thoughts
Aloha, I am Melinda, the creator of Theta Thoughts. I am also a yoga instructor, meditation guide, alignment coach, sound healer, Reiki Master, toolbox extraordinaire and a believer that we are the creators of our lives; I believe that we have the power to heal ourselves and create our own happiness and joy.
My studies and expertise expand into the areas of mindfulness, positive psychology, happiness and the law of attraction. I hold a Masters Degree in Psychology and a 500-hour certification in Yoga. I have molded my interests into a unique experience that is designed to assist individuals, like yourself, on their path of transformation and manifestation, while bringing about positive changes and improving the quality of their life.

For years I struggled with anxiety and depression. They usually appeared as a subtle sense of unhappiness or discomfort in the background of my existence; it was as though a gloomy cloud was following me around and I could never fully step out from under it and into the warm, joyful rays of the sun.
During the more extreme episodes, my anxiety would paralyze me; unable to engage in even the simplest of daily activities I would often lie in bed and ruminate on the negative thoughts that had, unknowingly, hijacked my mind. Depression would eventually set in.
I lost all interest in the things that once brought me joy. I went into survival mode; but truthfully I was barely surviving. My grades plummeted, my physical health deteriorated, I stopped showing up to work and my relationships suffered. As a result I isolated myself from the world, only perpetuating the cycle. And although I could see my life unraveling before me, I had no idea how to stop the rapid spiral into what had become the familiar darkness.
When my therapist recommend that I be medicated I reluctantly agreed, under the condition that it would be short term, to get me over the hump, and that I would seek out a holistic plan for my long term healing journey.
This marked the beginning of my journey of self-study. I spent years experimenting with different healing modalities including but not limited to; yoga, meditation, breath work, sound healing, floating and more.
Affirmations came in to play years later despite their frequent appearance in my repertoire of self- improvement books. Desperate, having exhausted all of my other resources, I turned to affirmations; I was in need of something radical to shift my mindset.
I vividly recall how uncomfortable I felt writing out my affirmations for the first time, but I was determined to create shifts in my life, and so I stayed with the practice. I continued to show up each day.
About three weeks into my daily affirmations practice something magical happened. I began to notice that the things I had been writing down were becoming my truths. I began to see my affirmations as a magical wish list and everything that I wrote down would become my truth.
I was simultaneously working with theta consciousness through my work with Yoga Nidra and was experiencing profound results of transformation and healing. I saw how powerful and effective subconscious reprograming was in the theta state of mind.
I began to experiment; pairing theta binaural beats with positive affirmations, in an effort to reprogram my own limiting thoughts and beliefs that were preventing me from living the life that I desired. I was aware of my blocks on the conscious level but needed something that would penetrate deeper. I found it.
I noticed the effects immediately. I felt more relaxed, calm and centered; more connected to myself. I was more responsive than reactive in triggering situations. And the biggest change was that I actually experienced and witnessed my internal tape begin to transform. I began to say kind and loving things to myself regularly and as a result my world around me became kinder and more loving.
And so Theta Thoughts came to be. A powerful tool to reprogram your internal thought tape and elevate your vibration, thus improving the quality of your life.
